I was given this amazing rug, it was torn and more than a little dirty, by my amazing aunt.  I think it was made in the 1950s or 60s??  It now sits nicely (and clean and for the most part repaired) in our family room well used by the children.  I am glad I did not turn it down because of the tears.  Sometimes taking the time to repair things pays off.  If not repair, than maybe repurpose.  I have actually (egads!) cut apart a falling apart quilt and put it into a new quilt so parts of the quilt can last for a few more generations to admire.  What have you repurposed lately?

I made this for our school auction, it is cute but a pain to make!  Maybe a different pattern next time....  I also just finished my class sample of Laura Wasilowskis fusing technique, I can't wait to teach it!  Now off to work some more on my Hoffman challenge.  What do you have going on?  Have fun being creative!!!

Here is what happens when you have some creative energy, time, and some really ugly yarn, combine all together and you get a really soft and beautiful rug!

Went hiking in some beautiful country this weekend.  I am thinking of turning some of our pictures into a quilt.  How many of you have turned a picture into a quilt?

Snow Day!

Wow, just since this morning, we have had 6 inches of snow, in Oregon, on the second day of Spring!!  No school soooo spent the day quilting, organizing my next crochet and knitting project, quilting, watching the kids play, quilting, reading the crochet magazine that came in the mail and now off to more..... quilting :)

Time flies!

Wow, I can't believe I have not posted something for so long, my apologies!  I have been busy being a mom, which is a good thing to be :).  I have also gotten heavily into crocheting and knitting lately as they can travel easier to dance classes where the lighting is not very good for hand work.  I have finished and sent off a Keepsake quilting challenge, here is to praying I win, I would love a shopping spree there!  Also currently working on a Hoffman challenge contest.  I seem to be veering into the green realm lately.  What color has grabbed you this year?  Happy creating!
